AND HER STORY OF GOING
FROM FRAGILE TO FREEDOM
Struggling as a new mom
I sat in my baby boy's nursery glider and looked at my arms while he nursed. There were rash spots, and there were scabs from rashes that met my finger nails. Thankfully, I had a little nursing pillow so my son didn’t have to lay on the rough and broken spots of my arms.
When my son was ready to switch sides, I had to make sure the nitrile gloves didn’t slide off my hands. I had just put steroid gel on my fingers, and didn’t want it wiping off or getting on my son.
I wore gloves a lot—to protect my hands from water and my own scratching, and to keep some kind of ointment on my skin.
I felt the stares at the grocery store. I felt the guilt of making my skin bleed time and time again. I felt so lonely in all of this. I didn’t know anyone else with issues like mine, let alone skin issues in general.
As a new mom whose skin reacted to everything, I desperately wanted relief. I lived with daily eczema and hives, and tried (what felt like) all the diets and products that promised the slightest bit of healing.
When I couldn't find anything that worked, I went back to school to study natural and organic skincare formulation, combining ancestral traditions with modern science.

Finding healing and
passion to help others
At the heart of Rooted+Wilder is the belief that healing happens on many levels. Sometimes it’s a balm that soothes irritated skin. Sometimes it’s a yoga class that helps the body release tension. Sometimes it’s reiki that restores balance deep within.
Each offering is different, but they all serve the same purpose: to lead you toward still waters.
Still waters are more than calm skin or a rested body — they’re a state of freedom, where you feel safe, at ease, and connected to yourself.
That’s my story, and the journey Rooted+Wilder invites you into: practical care, sacred rest, and gentle restoration.
In love and peace,
Vicki
